The location

It takes less than 4 minutes by foot to reach Picasso Museum, and less than 15 minutes to be on the famous and beautiful Place des Vosges and Hotel de Sully.
All interesting parts of the noble Marais are within walking distance, including Musee Carnavalet, Archives Nationales, etc...

If you go down nearby rue Vieille du Temple and keep going straight towards the Seine river, and cross it when you reach it and keep going, you'll cross Ile St Louis, then the Seine river again, then Ile de la Cité behind Notre-Dame, then the Seine river again, then you'll be on Quai de Montebello on the Left bank, close to the heart of the Quartier latin. All this within less than 30 minutes by foot if you don't stop on the way..

Within a short part of nearby rue de Bretagne, between rue des Archives and rue Vieille du Temple, you find two supermarkets (Franprix and a smaller one), 3 bakeries, 2 chemists (pharmacies), several fruit shops, a flowers shop, a Chinese traiteur, two Japanese restaurants, a drugstore, two newspapers shops or booths, a cheese shop, several cafes, a chocolate shop, a garage, two shops selling various items (lamps, CDs, etc..) and the open air Enfants Rouges market with entrances on rue de Bretagne and rue Charlot.

Over rue des 4 Fils and rue des Archives, it takes little time to go to BHV, a large department store near Hotel de Ville. Nearby rue Vieille du Temple is very lively and offers also many small shops and restaurants.

The apartment

Located on the topfloor, with an elevator (a luxury in Le Marais).

With about 42 sqm, the apartment offers :
- a living room with a sofa, a comfortable arm chair, a table with 2 chairs, high speed access to Internet, a vintage (but working) television set
- a master bedroom facing west, with a double bed, a cupboard, a chest of drawers and a stand with hangers
- a second bedroom with a roof window, with a double bed
- a kitchen, equipped with a refrigerator+integrated freezer, a washing machine, an oven and right below it, a small dish-washer, and the usual tableware and kitchenware.
- a bathroom with a bathtub equipped with a giant Brazilian shower nozzle, a wash-basin and a toilet

2009 SHORT TERM all-in rates

All-in rates cover : the rent (for peaceful/quiet use of the apartment), the broker's fee, the final cleaning fee, utilities, electricity up to 1.5 euro per night, and :

- DSL high speed access to Internet with an Ethernet cable ,

- use of the telephone with a prepaid card, or through the flat rate telephone service of the service in place at the time of the rental, without any communication charging the owner's telephone account - if that would happen the cost of communications beyond the flatr rate phone service would be deducted from the refundable safety deposit .

Linen and towels are provided and belong to the flat, cleaning products (soap, washing tablets or powder, dish-washing liquid, etc..) and some other basic consumables (oil, salt, sugar, etc..) are provided in limited quantities for renter's convenience. Upon renter's departure similar quantities should be ready for use by the next renter, at departing renter's expense if necessary.

High season rates

- 7 nights : for 1 or 2 persons : 720 euros ; for 3 or 4 persons : 890 euros

- 14 nights : for 1 or 2 persons : 1,145 euros ; for 3 or 4 persons : 1,485 euros

- 21 nights : for 1 or 2 persons : 1,510 euros ; for 3 or 4 persons : 1,930 euros

- 28 nights : for 1 or 2 persons : 1,860 euros ; for 3 or 4 persons : 2,360 euros

In each case :

- a refundable safety deposit, payable upon arrival, will be required to cover possible damage in the flat, or the loss of a key. 1,000 euros or 1,350 USD is an adequate deposit.

- a non refundable firm reservation down-payment will be required before arrival.

- electricity is included up to a reasonable usage (average 10 euros per week)

- telephone can be used with prepaid cards for outgoing calls.

2009 LONG TERM RATE

It may be possible sometimes to rent the apartment for a longer period, especially in July and August ( and in 2009 from June 1st to end of December, possibly longer, at 1,500 euros per month including utilites) in which case a special rate and fee could be negotiated.
